Pandora for iOS got an update today that improves its Facebook sharing capability as well as a visual make over and new user interface.
Version 4.3 allows users to publish tracks and stations directly to Facebook to their timeline with music details like album artwork, lyrics and artist info.
Facebook’s ranking algorithm will determine how music activity appears in the Activity Log, News Feed and Facebook’s recently added Music section.
“For those who want to share, Pandora’s new timeline app serves as another platform for music exposure and discovery, which benefits listeners, artists and advertisers,” said Pandora Chief Technology Officer and EVP of Product Tom Conrad.
Easier access to the track menu is also included, which allows users to invent new stations, bookmark, share and purchase music.
Pandora radio is a pioneer in streaming music apps and has enjoyed great success over the last several years with its iPhone app. As the last update to Pandora included sharing capabilities over email and Twitter, Facebook integration is considered a natural next step in Pandora’s social-media-integration campaign.
